Although many residents are looking toward Nov. 6 — Election Day — as the most important day in the political season, one is approaching that is just as important, according to county officials.
Those not registered to vote in Faulkner County need to do so by Oct. 9. To become a registered voter, a resident will need to complete a voter registration form and mail it to the Faulkner County Clerk’s office. They can also complete the form at the office in the Faulkner County Courthouse.
The form is available on the faulkner county Web site, faulknercounty.org under the county clerk’s tab at "voter information."
Transferring of voter registration from other counties in Arkansas can be done until 4:30 p.m. Nov. 2 by calling or coming to the county clerk’s office. Those who are not sure if they are registered to vote in Faulkner County can call the county clerk’s office at 450-4909 or email the clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org. The office will process the application, and the voter will receive a voter identification card from the office.
CORRECTION: This story original said Oct. 8 is the last day to register to vote. Because of Columbus Day on Monday, the last day to register to vote is pushed back. Voters may register to vote by Oct. 9, according to the Arkansas Secretary of State website.
