The Oak Grove Cemetery board is planning to build a columbarium near the gazebo in the center of the cemetery.

A columbarium is the public storage of urns holding a deceased’s cremated remains.

At its meeting Monday, the board voted to delay a price increase from $500 to $650 until June, approved plans for tree trim and removal, discussed the 2013 budget and long-term plans.

Oak Grove Cemetery is a public cemetery, established in 1880, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Burial plots are available for purchase at the cemetery, which is located at the east end of Bruce Street, just south of the current airport. The cemetery can be accessed via its website, and also on Facebook.

Board members for 2013 are Patricia Thessing, president; Brenda Collier, vice president; Chris Odom, treasurer; Sue Siria, secretary; Jason Hansen, Carol Powers, and Jim Owen.

Chris Spatz, cemetery manager, can be reached at 501-428-6031 for purchase of plots or for more information about Oak Grove.

Tax-deductible donations are welcome and greatly appreciated, Spatz said.

Board meetings are open to the public.
