Amy Reed of Conway, the 2013 president of the Conway Regional Women’s Council, says the volunteer group is ready to shake up how women view health care.

Reed is excited about plans for "updating the Women’s Council’s footprint in 2013."

She said a redesign of Women’s Council activities will include a health care forum/luncheon for women in March, along with some non-traditional activities focused on the community.

"Dazzle Daze is, of course, our signature event and we will continue it," Reed said, "and we are going to add more programs that will draw women in from the community and help them become an active part of the health care in our community."

The council will host a drop-in "Membership Madness Drive" social event 4:30-6:30 p.m. today at Michelangelo’s Italian Restaurant.

"If anyone has ever been interested in the Women’s Council, this is for you," Reed said,

The Conway Regional Women’s Council is an advocacy group of the Conway Regional Health Foundation that promotes women’s health education, provides fundraising support and volunteer services benefiting Conway Regional Health System.

Since its inception in 2001, the Council has hosted numerous educational luncheons and seminars, provided countless volunteer hours and raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of the health system.

Reed has been a member of the Women’s Council for four years serving in an at-large position on the Dazzle Daze Committee. She is director of enrollment for Non Traditional Programs for Central Baptist College in Conway.

Amy and her husband, Donnie, have two daughters: Hope, a student at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, and Faith, a student at Conway High School.
