The Conway City Council will hear several reports from various committees, including a consideration to approve nominations for the Conway Housing Authority and the Conway Corporation Board of Directors.

The Conway Housing Authority Board has requested the confirmation of Ruth Glover’s reappointment for another five year term. The board also voted on March 11 to nominate Celesta Dokes to fill the remainder of Sydne Manley’s term. The term expires in 2015. Manley is resigning due to an out-of-state relocation.

The Conway Corporation Board of Directors met March 19 and elected Robert James Whitehouse to succeed Randy Crowell. Crowell’s term expires May 8.

From the Public Safety Committee, the aldermen will consider to accept bids on a firearm training simulator for the Conway Police Department.

In new business, the council will consider an ordinance appropriating funds to replace the sound system used for the council meetings.

The system would be an independent system from the municipal court.

The council meeting will take place March 26 at 6:30 pm at 810 Parkway Street.
