Maggie’s Original Cookie Company was voted Faulkner County’s favorite place for cookies.

The store at Prince Street bakes up 23 varieties on the regular, according to supervisor Cole Welborn.

But the favorites are chocolate no-bakes and the smiley face cookies.

What makes Maggie’s special, Welborn said, is that the cookie recipes all originate with owner Maggie Buntaine or her family.

Maggie’s celebrated 25 years in operation, and year 26 is near.

Buy a cookie at a time at Maggie’s or cater a meeting.

Kids like to stop by after school to pick out a cookie, but adults buy them by the dozen for meetings and events.

The store has eight employees, some of which make it to work before 7 a.m. to start the day’s batches of sugar cookies that vary in shape from frogs to flowers.
