Former Conway High School running back Peyton Hillis will sign with the New York Giants today, sources within the organization are reporting.
Hillis will fill the roster spot made vacant by Da'Rel Scott, who was waived/injured following a hamstring injury suffered in Thursday's loss to the Bears.
Hillis is best known for an explosive 2010 season where he put up 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns as a member of the Browns. He was famously was selected by fans to appear on the Madden video game cover the following year.
In stops since (the following season with Cleveland saw him post 309 yards) he has not put up more than 600 yards in a single season.
Last year, as a member of the Chiefs, Hillis registered 309 yards on 85 attempts. He had a brief stint with the Buccaneers as well.
The Giants are currently 0-6 and looking for more help at the running back position.
