The Conway Police Department is asking local residents to bring unused prescription drugs to its Drug Take Back on Saturday.
The event will take place at the police department at 1105 Prairie St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday’s event is part of the National Drug Take Back.
The Drug Enforcement Administration said the event is used to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way of disposing of prescription drugs, and at the same time, provide education to the general public on the dangers of medication abuse.
The first national event was held Sept. 25, 2010. The sixth was held April 27 where more than 742,000 pounds of prescription medications were collected at 5,829 locations. In all, more than 2.8 million pounds have been removed from circulation.
