Ida Burns Elementary students, teachers and parents gathered together Oct. 25 to recognize students and classes who exemplified this month’s character attribute: Responsibility.
The school has a character assembly each month to reward students and focus on a specific character attribute.
Last week was also Red Ribbon Week, and Ida Burns Elementary celebrated with several themed days. Friday — the day of the character assembly — coincided with Pajama Day. Throughout the week students dressed up in crazy clothes, hats, Razorback gear, Wampus Cat gear and PJs. Each day represented a theme to remind children to say "No" to drugs. Friday, students were encouraged to "Follow Your Dreams; Don’t Do Drugs."
