The Cecil and Carolyn Hall endowed Scholarship was announced at a luncheon at Central Baptist College on Oct. 24, 2013. The scholarship was established by Robert and Cheryl Stewart, the Hall’s daughter and son-in-law.

The Halls are longtime members of First Baptist Church of Damascus, Ark., and before his death in 2012, Cecil served for many years as the church treasurer and on the building committee. Carolyn is a retired kindergarten teacher from the South Side Bee Branch School District. The couple also have a long history with Central Baptist College. Carolyn, two of the Hall’s children, and numerous grandchildren have attended CBC, and their son-in-law, Robert, was the head men’s basketball coach for the Mustangs from 1979 to 1990.

The Cecil and Carolyn Hall Endowed Scholarship will give priority to students who are members of First Baptist Church in Damascus. In addition, the scholarship is for students who demonstrate financial need and will therefore be applied to tuition only. As with all of the endowed scholarships at the institution, the initial donation has been placed in the permanent endowment.

Others interested in contributing to the Cecil and Carolyn Hall Endowed Scholarship are encouraged to send their tax deductible donations to Central Baptist College, 1501 College Avenue, Conway, AR 72034 or contact Sancy (Hutto) Faulk, Vice President for Advancement, at either sfaulk@cbc.edu or 501-205-8799.
