Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott held its grand opening at 2260 Sanders Road on Wednesday.

General Manager Jake Honegger said the hotel held its soft opening on Feb. 19 and is "running 85 percent for the month."

"We're loving it," he said. "It's been extremely busy."

According to a prepared statement from the new hotel, Honegger has more than 10 years experience working with Marriott hotels. He has lived in Conway since 2003.

"I think Conway's definitely needed a Marriott property in town," Honegger said on Wednesday. "I've waited seven years. I think it's a great addition to Conway. We've picked up a lot quicker than expectations."

He said the hotel has 89 rooms, 33 of which are suites. The rooms are "very user friendly, built for the business traveler," he said.

The hotel offers amenities such as high speed Internet access, refrigerators and microwaves in each room, complimentary continental breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub, a business center and a meeting room that can accommodate 30 classroom style or 60 theater style, Honegger said.

Regarding the Fairfield Inn and Suites brand, he said, "It's one of Marriott's stronger brands right now with the economy ... We definitely have the customer in mind when it comes to value, but we're also offering a lot of amenities."

Carly Stephens, director of sales, handles all corporate accounts and group room bookings, as well as meeting and event planning. She also comes to the Fairfield Inn and Suites with more than a decade of hospitality experience, according to information provided by the hotel.

Honegger concluded, "We're very happy to be here. It's a great product for Conway."
