John Mullins of Conway, a 31-year veteran and city driver for ABF Freight Systems of North Little Rock, was selected to participate in the annual Arkansas Trucking Association Driving Rodeo held June 12-13 in Lowell. A year of accident-free driving qualified him for the event.

The two-day competition consisted of several categories. One hundred fourteen drivers from various companies around the state participated in eight different driving classifications.

Mullins won the three-axle division competition.

This is the third time he has won his classification, with ABF winning seven out of the last eight years. He was also named "Grand Champion" by outscoring all contestants in all divisions. By winning his division, he received an all-expense paid trip to compete in the National Truck Driving Competition in Pittsburgh, Pa., in August. He will compete against first-place winners from all 50 states.
