Two men suspected of assaulting and robbing a local sporting goods store employee as he left work were arrested Wednesday.

Thomas Forrester, 23, and Nathaniel Morris, 20 are being held without bond in the Faulkner County Detention Center.

"The investigation into this case led police to these suspects and they were picked up today where they live in Roland, Arkansas," CPD spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said Wednesday. "Police are still seeking a third suspect."

Wyite Simpson, an Academy Sports + Outdoors sales associate, previously told the Log Cabin Democrat that he saw three men near two parked motorcycles in the store’s parking lot shortly after 10 p.m. March 7.

Simpson said he drove his motorcycle over to where the men were because it appeared they were having mechanical issues with one of their motorcycles. He said the men told him help was on the way so he went to leave but was attacked.

"I turned around to leave because they said they had help, and then, I was hit in the back of the head," he told the Log Cabin Democrat. "I turned around again and saw a pistol in my face."

His head injury required seven staples at a local hospital. He said the men stole his motorcycle and drove off toward Little Rock on Interstate 40.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the CPD Criminal Investigation Division at 501-450-6130 or text an anonymous tip to CRIMES (274-637) using the keyword "Conway" in the text along with the information.
