The dark night skies of Woolly Hollow State Park offer a fantastic backdrop for the annual Geminid Meteor Shower — one of the most spectacular and busy meteor showers of the year, with up to 50 meteors per hour, from 9 p.m. to midnight on December 14.

Visitors should meet at the visitors center. Admission is free.

Dress warmly, bring a reclining lawn chair or maybe a blanket, and perhaps a pair of binoculars if you want to look close up at constellations. This time of year is ideal to watch the heavens and enjoy a peaceful retreat for a few hours.

Complete cloud cover or rain will cause cancellation of this event.
