Harry Nathaniel Thompson, 82, of Conway passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010.  He was born Friday, March 30, 1928 in Morrilton to the late William and Margaret (Moore) Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, who will be missed by all. He retired from the United States Army after 26 years of service. After moving back to Conway in 1989, he was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he became a member and has been since that day.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Harriet (Mayfield) Thompson; sons, Ralph N. Thompson and Brian S. Thompson; five daughters, Ronayne Thompson, Norma McDaniels, JoAnn Miller, Janice Smith and Della Rhinehart; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-granchildren; two sisters, Mae Willie Thompson and Glady T. Waters; brother, Joel P. Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Penda Ennals and Carolyn Jones; and 10 siblings.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.  Burial will be held at noon Friday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
