Helen Irene Brown, 88, of Damascus passed away  Saturday, Sept. 25. Born in Ogden, Utah, she was a daughter to the late Sigmond and Josephine (Gray) Whittich. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and member of First Baptist Church in Damascus for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her previously mentioned parents; her husband, Doyce Brown; and two sisters, Anna and Clara Whittich.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy McCool ( Bill); son, Robert Brown (Judy) both of Damascus; grandchildren, Paul Brown, Keith Brown (Yan Ru) and  Mark McCool (Kim); great-grandchildren, Clint, Kelsy and Caleb Brown and Tong Tong; and a host of extended church family and friends. 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Damascus with Bro. Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Spires Cemetery with Charles Riddle, Sam Massey, Kenneth Hall, Jim MeGee, Jimmy Brown and Don Linn serving as pallbearers. 

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
