Frank Gehrki, 89, died peacefully at his home at Morningside Assisted Living in Williamsburg, Va., on Sept. 27, 2010.
Born and raised in Conway, in 1921, Mr. Gehrki lived his working years in North Little Rock. He moved to Williamsburg, Va., in 2003.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Genevieve.
He is survived by sons, Frank and wife, Jan, of Williamsburg, Va., Ralph and wife, Georgia, of Keller, Texas, Gary and wife, Claire, of Arkadelphia and Tom and wife, Kristina, of Fairfax, Va.; and daughter, Donna Hines and husband, Bobby, of Chesterfield, Va. Additionally, he is survived by sisters, Barbara Tipp of Temple, Texas, and Ann Olszewski of Fairfax, Va., and brother Charles of Conway, as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Conway in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was employed at Delta Air Lines in Little Rock for 35 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Va., at 9 a.m. today.
Interment will be in the St. Bede Columbarium at a later date.
