Police beat

On Nov. 22, police responded to a shots-fired call near Independent Living Services on South German Lane. Officers noted “1 shell casing laying in the road and multiple spots on the concrete and grass that had been hit by bullets,” in the report.

“I was able to recover two spent ammunition jackets laying on the sidewalk east of Lake Pointe Town Homes,” an officer wrote. “There were no victims found and only 1 piece of property next to the light pole that was hit. There were multiple citizens in the area that heard the shots and it was determined the suspect fired at least 6 shots.”

Witnesses reported seeing a blue pickup truck “leaving the area at a high rate of speed,” the report stated.

Officers noted they were able to go to a nearby business and obtain a good description of the vehicle.

Pill pick-up

Also Nov. 22, police responded to Virco for a theft of property report. A man told officers that when he went to pick up his prescriptions at Sav-On Drugs on Harkrider Street, employees told him his ex-roomate had picked them up already. He said she was not supposed to pick them up. The prescriptions were a 90-day supply of Hydrocodone and Gabapentin.
