1 Corinthians 1:18 reads: "The teaching about the cross is foolishness to those who are being lost but to us we are being saved, it is the power of God."
Also, Galatians 6:14 reads: "I hope I would never brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 3:18-21 says: "Many people live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have often told you about them, and it makes me cry to tell you about them now. In the end, they will be destroyed. They do whatever their bodies want, they are proud of their shameful acts, and they think only about earthly things. But our homeland is in Heaven, and we are waiting for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ to come from Heaven by His power to rule all things He will change our humble bodies and make them like His own glorious body."
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross. That cross is where my Lord and Savior was executed. They put nails in His hands and feet then they pierced Him in his side and the blood poured out of His body. You see God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit had a plan before the foundation of the world. They knew that Adam and Eve were going to disobey God in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit from the forbidden tree. And when they did that, Jesus had to die because Adam and Eve opened up the door for sin to come in to this earth for all mankind.
You see, when you disobey God, you are inviting the devil to come into your life. And when the devil comes into your life then sin follows him. Another thing, when you disobey God it’s also called witchcraft. My brothers and sisters, keep your eyes on the cross, the cross where Jesus died because at the cross there is forgiveness of sin. At the cross our healing takes place. There is much love at the cross, the love of Jesus is at the cross.
My addiction for drugs and alcohol stopped because of the cross, I am now drug free and it’s only because of the cross. When I mention the cross or talk about the cross, I’m talking about the One who died on that cross and that’s Jesus the Son of the Living God. Because of the cross and what took place on the cross, I would not be here today. I thank God for the cross of Jesus. I’m thankful that He chose to die for little ol’ me. Now that’s personal, one on one with Jesus! You can get personal with Him too, just thank Him for what He did for you. You don’t have to let everyone know what you have done, just Jesus. The Bible tells us to confess our sins to Him. Now brothers and sisters, don’t think you are getting away with anything because God knows your sins before you even do them. He knows your thoughts before you even think them. That’s why I say it’s okay to get personal with God, go one on one with Him. That’s what Jesus and the cross is all about, Him being our personal savior.
If He saved me I know He can save you!
After all, that’s what Jesus and the cross was and is, always about salvation through Jesus Christ. I beg you to get to know Jesus, invite Him into your heart. Start following Him today. Don’t worry about what people may say when you tell them you have decided to follow Jesus! I tell you, one day Jesus is coming back for His followers and I want to be in that number when He comes back! Love on somebody today, tell them that you love them with the love of Christ. AMEN.
