Pastor Bob’s message Sunday was on "Peace Offering" Taken from Leviticus 7, John 16, and Colossians 3. John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful. Peace is something we all want and need. There is such turmoil in our world today and what a blessing it would be if it could find the peace it needs, and I think that could happen only if we put God back into our country and into our hearts and love one another the way the Lord intended it to be. I would say this country is just like Sodom and Gomorrah and one day the Lord will destroy it.

Our annual fish fry is this Saturday at Toad Suck Park, pavilion 5. We all have been looking forward to some great food, fellowship and music.

Our prayers go out to Sonny Page who just had a stint put in, Techler Clark who fell and hurt herself, Larry Duncan who had surgery, Sharon and Darrell Watts, Ann Veazey, Sylvia Childers, our family and friends who needs a touch from the Lord and of course our leaders and our country.

We are planning our Pastor Appreciation Day October 30, and we have a guest speaker Bruce Anderson from Hot Springs coming to bless us with the Word. Bro. Anderson is our nephew and the oldest son of Pastor Bob’s sister Sue Anderson and Reverend Harold Anderson. We are looking forward to this special day and excited about Bro. Bruce Anderson coming. There will be special music by Ken and Sylvia Childers and Daryl Coran. We will have pot luck afterwards with lots of great food, fun and fellowship and a blessed day for all.

My prayer: Lord when our hearts see the troubles of others, and we think we are too far away or too powerless to help, that is an untruth. Our prayers are full of heavenly power. They transcend time and space. We can be on our knees in our living rooms and reach a president in the White House, a homeless man on a city street, children starving, missionaries AIDS workers in Africa and many more. Prayer works, I know because the Lord has answered many for me. Thank you Lord for listening to me now. Amen!

"Some people talk about heaven being so far away. It is within speaking distance of those who belong there."
