After leading by 25-22 after the first quarter, the third-seeded Louisville Cardinals outscored the 14th-seeded University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears, 29-9, in the second quarter and powered to an 87-60 victory Friday in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at the KFC Yum! Center Louisivlle.

The Sugar Bears, the Southland Conference tournament champions who finished the season 28-4, led much of the initial period — by six points at one point.

The UCA women then had no answer for the size and inside power of the Cardinals (26-7), particularly post Myisha Hines-Allen, who scored 25 points in 23 minutes.

The Sugar Bears, who hit four of their first five 3-point attempts, hit only three more the rest of the way and finished 7 for 20, shooting 32.9 percent overall from the field. The Cardinals hit 34 of 62 shots, much of the dmage in the paint.

UCA post Taylor Baudoin, who picked up three fouls in the first half, led the Sugar Bears with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Louisivlle will play DePaul in Sunday's second round of the Dallas Regional.
