NORTH LITTLE ROCK — (AP) — The Seattle Mariners have announced a two-year minor-league affiliation with the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, beginning next season.

Arkansas, which is a part of the Texas League, had been affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels since 2001. The Travelers play in North Little Rock’s Dickey-Stephens Park, which opened in 2007.

Seattle’s previous Double-A affiliate, the Jackson, Tennessee, Generals of the Southern League, announced a four-year agreement with Arizona on Monday. Jackson won the Southern League championship this season, and the AZL Mariners also won the Rookie Arizona League title.

Arkansas is the longest continuous member of the Texas League, having played in the league for the 51st straight year this season.
