Conway Christian boys and girls golfers both won distriction championships Monday and Tuesday at The Links at Cadron Valley.

Monday, the girls defeated Quitman for the title. Senior Macey Vaught was medalist at 50.

Tuesday, the CCS boys edged St. Joseph for their third straight district title.

Sophomore Matthew Hubbard was medalist an overall score of 80.

The girls team will compete at state on Tuesday at Thunder Bay Golf Club at Blytheville. The boys will compete in the 2A tournament Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Camden Country Club.


At Greystone Country Club at Cabot, Greenbrier’s Olivia Parker took a two-stroke victory over Olivia Faught of Alma for medalist honors in the 5A-West girls tournament. Parker fired an 11-over 83.

The Greenbrier girls finished fourth at 348. Other scores were Beverly Davis, 120; and Logan McCormick, 145. Vilonia scores were Paige Brown, 143; and Marcia Williams, 170.

The Greenbrier boys finished second at 369, 10 strokes behind champion Harrison. Vilonia was fifth at 391.

Greenbrier scores were: Matthew Burroughs, 84; Colton Ray, 88; Andrew Burroughs, 97; Dylan Wilson, 100; and Sam Burroughs, 104.

Vilonia scores were: Adam Ratliff, 93; Sagan Lewis, 98; Chance Bledsoe, 99; Kory Wilson, 101; Chance Wilson, 112.
