Deon Simmons is solidly establishing himself among a line of outstanding Mayflower running backs.

Simmons rushed for 256 yards on 26 carries Friday and scored five touchdowns in the Eagles’ come-from-behind victory at Barton.

He caught a 50-yard scoring pass from Sean Harris and had runs of 12, 37, 6 and 9 yards, two of the scores in a 16-point fourth quarter for the Eagles (3-1, 1-0). He ran for two two-point conversions and twice caught passes from Harris for other conversions.

Simmons has scored 10 touchdowns the last two games.

Keon Simmons had 98 yards on six receptions, including a 45-yard pass from Harris, who was 10 of 19 for 180 yards.

Christian Forrester and Harris also ran for two-point conversions.
