Crosby Kear, a second-grader at Jim Stone Elementary, has been named as the December First Tee Character Development program Participant of the Month
He is a son of Chris and Tara Kear. “Crosby has been great in class each week and has done a great job learning the First Tee Nine Core Values,” said Sam Taylor, First Tee coach. “I have also seen Crosby improve his golf swing each week through full swing and pitching activities.”
Kear started the CSI First Tee Character Development program earlier this year. “My favorite part of the program is getting to learn about and play fun games that teach us golf,” he said. “Responsibility is my favorite core value because I can really show how to be responsible, and people will be able to trust me when I show responsibility.”
His parents have seen positive changes in their son since his enrollment. “He has shown a greater sense of responsibility and respect since starting the program,” said Chris. “Crosby has shown a higher degree of etiquette and respect for other players while on the course and is very conscious of respecting the rules of the game.”
Kear recently became PLAYer certified and will begin to learn about the nine healthy habits as well as developing his golf game at the Par Level.
The Community Service First Tee Character Development Program offers after-school weekly programming starting on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
