Robert Sadowski, a second-grader at Julia Lee Moore Elementary, is the January First Tee Character Development program Participant of the Month.

He is a son of Marek and Annette Sadowski.

“Robert comes to class each week eager to learn everything he can about the core values and the game of golf,” said Sam Taylor, First Tee coach. “I really enjoy having Robert in class each week and look forward to seeing him succeed in the program.”

He started the CSI First Tee Character Development program in the fall of last year. “My favorite part of the program are the games we practice; it makes learning golf fun,” said Robert. “My favorite core value is perseverance because you have to learn from your mistakes and try better next time.”

His parents have seen positive changes since their son started the program. “Robert has never played golf or even held a golf club when he started with the CSI First Tee Character Development program last fall. He's learned so much and we are thrilled that he's found a sport that he loves,” said Annette.

Robert is currently at the PLAYer level where he is learning about the First Tee Nine Core Values (Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Honesty, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Judgment, Perseverance and Integrity) and Essential Life Skills through the game of golf.

The CSI First Tee Character Development program is currently enrolling for after school weekly programming. It meets every Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Conway from 3:45 to 5 p.m.
