Three Greenbrier students continued their academic and athletic career’s Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
From the girls soccer team, goalkeeper Samantha Kramer signed with Williams Baptist College. Her senior season starts Feb. 20, but she has amassed 187 saves in two seasons in goal for the Lady Panthers. She has given up just 13 goals in 37 games, averaging 5.1 saves per game and has recorded 13 shutouts.
She’s joining a Williams Baptist team that went 5-11-1 during the 2017 season.
Williams Baptist plays in the American Midwest Conference withCentral Baptist College.
KJ Jones, a defensive tackle for the Panthers is venturing to Kilgore, Texas, signing with Kilgore Junior College.
Jones was an integral part of a Greenbrier defense that helped the Panthers to a share of the 5A West title in 2017. Jones finished with 18 total tackles, 10 of the solo variety as a senior. He will join a Kilgore team that went 5-4 overall.
Spencer Sutterfield was another integral part of the 5A West co-championship team at running back and linebacker. He signed with Ouachita Baptist University.
As a linebacker, he recorded 92 total tackles, with two tackles for loss. He also had two sacks and caused one fumble.
He was one of the top rushers in the state, running for 1,078 yards and 19 touchdowns. He averaged 98 yards per game and had four games where he surpassed the 100 rushing yard plateau.
Sutterfield will join recent Conway signee Nate Turner, as well as other former Wampus Cats, Jack Pillow, Marquise Pleasant and Josiah Smith. Former Vilonia Eagles Bryce Garrison and Brendan Hale also play for the Tigers.
OBU finished last season at 9-3 with a 9-2 Great American Conference Record.
The Tigers lost to Ferris State University in the opening round of the Division II playoffs.
