The University of Central Arkansas Bears had seven indoor track and field performers named All-Southland Conference.

UCA had two champions,  junior Hannah Noble and sophomore Alex Hanson, at the recent SLC Indoor Championships to earn first-team All-SLC honors. Senior Eric Moore finished second in the high jump and earned second-team honors, while the distance medley relay team of MarkusSchweikert, Marcel Keeton, Shamal Sullivan and Julien Jeandree finished third and were named third-team all-conference.

Noble, from Berryville, set the women’s school record in the high jump at at 5-07.75 to lead the field. Hanson, from Thatcham, England, set a  school mark in the 800 meters, running a 1:50.87 to get the gold. Moore, the school record holder, jumped 7-00.50 for second place, while the relay team ran a 10:11.73 for th

UCA’s outdoor track and field season begins with the UCA Spring Opener on Saturday, March 10 at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex.

 Academic honors for 4 from CBC

Central Baptist College basketball players Andy Etienne, Jarma Perkins, Marcel Swinton and Jon Warren were selected by the American Midwest Conference  for their academic achievement.

To be eligible for Academic all-conference honors, athletes must be in their second semester and have at least a 3.0 GPA and finish the year on the team.

Etienne has been a key contributor for the Mustangs this season on the defensive side. Perkins joined the team in January and has been solid as the backup point guard. Swinton has contributed offensively when calledupon, including hitting a big 3 in the AMC quarterfinal win over Lindenwood-Belleville. Warren has been a starter for most of the season.

Nine Central Baptist College women’s basketball players have been selected for the American Midwest Conference’s All-Academic Team.

Ashlyn Allen, Emily Gardner, Emily Ridgell, Holly Allen, Karlie Senko, Kendra Cummings, KK

Ashworth, Kory Westerman and Natalie Woolsey were all recognized for their achievements.
