The Southland Conference announced its Preseason All-Conference Teams for women's soccer on Wednesday, and a pair of Central Arkansas Bears were honored. Senior Kristen Ricks was named First Team, while fellow senior Camille Bassett earned Second Team Honors.

Ricks, from Keller, Texas, has anchored the Central Arkansas defense over the last three seasons, earning All-Southland Conference Second Team honors in 2016 and All-SLC Honorable Mention in 2017.

She ranked second on the squad with 1,559 minutes played while starting all 21 of the Bears' contests, splitting time between the backline and the midfield.

Ricks scored one goal and assisted on two others and helped the UCA defense allow just 1.10 goals per game.

Bassett, from Vista, California, has established herself as one of the premier strikers in the Southland over her first three seasons in Conway, earning SLC Freshman of the Year honors in 2015 and Forward and Player of the Year honors in 2016.

She is coming off a junior campaign that saw her strike three times and add a pair of assists.

"We are excited for Kris and Cam," UCA coach Jeremy Bishop said. "Going into their senior seasons, and really our entire senior class, they have both worked so hard to put themselves and our program in a place where we expect, and can have, success. We are looking forward to seeing that hard work pay off. I won't be surprised if these two and a few others are on the All-Conference Teams at the end of the season."
