The University of Central Arkansas football team will be unveiling new uniforms on Aug. 9 after releasing a teaser video on Twitter.
The UCA Sports Twitter account posted a video showing snippets of the new design on August 7. The full reveal is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Director of Equipment Operations Dalton Withrow was tasked with designing the new uniforms. “I just wanted to do something a little different from what we have done in the past, but show appreciation to the tradition we have here at UCA,” he said.
The UCA uniforms will be made by Nike this year, as the university decided to switch from Adidas after agreeing to a five-year deal with Nike through BSN Sports.
UCA and Nike entered the partnership on July 1 of this year.
Mascot Bruce D. Bear will be wearing the new uniform at the Off the Clock: Purple Passion event, which will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Estes Stadium.
According to the Conway Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, fans will be able to meet players of the football, volleyball and soccer teams and get autographs.
UCA president Houston Davis, athletic director Brad Teague and football coach Nathan Brown will speak.
Fans can pick up their 2018 football season tickets.
The event is free and open to the public.
