The Vilonia Eagles picked up their first win of the season and the first win under coach Todd Langrell when it beat Beebe 42-36 in Vilonia on Friday.

The Eagles took their first lead of the season on their second possession when quarterback Jordan Britton connected with wide reciever Reed Saddler for an 18-yard passing touchdown.

Vilonia would pick up the 2-point conversion, making the score 8-0.

Beebe would strike back with a 2-yard by running back Hayden Howard and would convert the point after attempt, making the score 8-7 with 9:02 left in the second quarter when Austin Koonce on a 24-yard reception from Britton.

The Badgers’ Taylor Boyce scored a touchdown from three yards out that was set up by a 50-yard run by Jace Shillcutt.

Boyce would then give Beebe the lead on a 51-yard scamper before late in the second quarter.

The Badgers tried to gain a bigger lead when their kicker Daniel Martinez attempted a 28-yard field goal but hit the right upright.

Out of halftime, Vilonia’s Draven Smith recovered a fumble and took it 59 yards to the house, giving the Eagles a 21-20 lead.

Vilonia would add another score on a 27-yard pass from Britton to Zeke Bell, making the score 28-20 with 5:47 left in the third quarter.

Martinez would then hit from 36 yards out with 5:14 left in the game, pulling within a 35-29 score.

Draven Smith would then punch it in from two yards out with 1:39 left in the game, putting the Eagles ever closer to their first win of the season with a 42-29 lead.

The Badgers would Climb within six again when Alex Boyce took it in from five yards out.

Greenbrier had a tough time with 5A Central opponent Little Rock Christian in a 56-13 win in Little Rock.

The Panthers had trouble moving the ball, not picking up a first down for quite a while.

In the meantime, LRC was seemingly scoring at will, putting up 21 points in the first quarter, before rounding off the score to 49-0 by halftime.

The Warriors would score just one more time, while the Panthers could only muster 13 points in the shortened second half.

In Mayflower, the Eagles continued to roll, beating Parkers Chapel 52-8 in El Dorado.

Mayflower would start its scoring barrage in the first quarter on a pair of quarterback Dalton Muse passes to running back Keon Simmons from 36 and 12 yards out.

The Eagles converted both 2-point attempts after the touchdowns, making the score 16-0 by the end of the first quarter.

Parkers Chapel would cut the score in half when it scored on a 22-yard touchdown pass.

The Eagles wouldn’t let that touchdown change their momentum when it rattled off three touchdowns.

Dylan Burnett punched it in from two yards out and Keon Simmons ran for two touchdowns, one from 26 yards and the other from 79 yards.

A pair of 2-point conversions made the score 38-8 by halftime.

Simmons would once again add to his rushing total when he ran for a 22-yard touchdown, giving Mayflower a 44-8.

The Eagles would add another touchdown on a 14-yard run, capping a blowout.
