As announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thursday morning, freshman outside hitter Lauren Dwyer was selected to the AVCA South Region Team.

Dwyer, a product of Leawood, Kansas, tallied a team-best 345.5 points during the 2018 season.

In addition, Dwyer produced 292 kills, 32 service aces and 18 assists en rout to leading Hendrix Volleyball to a 20-8 overall record including a third-place finish in the Southern Athletic Association and a semifinal appearance in the SAA Tournament for the sixth-straight season.

The junior also logged a second-most 339 digs and 41 total blocks as well.

After helping lead Hendrix to an impressive 8-1 non-conference record before SAA play started, Dwyer sustained 145 kills and 211 digs in 52 sets played as part of conference contests.

With the award, Dwyer is the first Warrior to receive such an award since Hendrix alum MC Rogers, Sara Dyslin and Lauren Petrisin received the same award in 2016.
