Jeffrey Williams medaled today in the 2019 Mustang Invitational at Reddin Fieldhouse, placing in the 133-pound weight class, winning twice before falling in the finals.

Central Baptist College finished ninth out of nine teams in today's competition, which was won by fellow NAIA school Brewton-Parker College.

Williams, who finished second, beat a pair of NCAA Division III wrestlers, from University of the Ozarks and Schreiner University, before falling to an NCAA Division II wrestler from Truman State in the finals.

Additionally, freshman Darius Gatewood finished fourth at 125 pounds, Ben Freeman competed at 149 pounds, Matthew Jones finished sixth at 197 pounds and Dwayne Jennings competed at 285 pounds.

CBC's dual with Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday night has been canceled, so the Mustangs will return to the mat next weekend when they head to Moberly, Missouri, for the Missouri Valley Invitational, hosted by Missouri Valley College.

The matches will get underway at 11 a.m. on Friday.
