Many Faulkner County teams split games between their boys and girls squads on Friday.
Both Conway Wampus Cats teams improved their records with wins Friday at Cabot.
The Conway boys (12-3, 3-0 6A Central) beat the Panthers (14-2, 2-1 6A Central) 61-51.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Cats (16-2, 3-0 6A Central) won handily over Cabot (11-3, 2-1 6A Central) 63-41.
Conway hosts Fort Smith Northside on Tuesday.
In Greenbrier, the Panthers (12-4, 2-1 5A West) beat Siloam Springs (6-8, 1-2 5A West) 70-45 in the Panther Pavilion.
The Lady Panthers (4-12, 0-3 5A West) fell to Siloam Springs (6-10, 3-0 5A West) 57-46.
Both Greenbrier teams will host Vilonia on Tuesday.
Vilonia traveled Friday to Greenwood, winning both games against the Bulldogs.
A strong second half propelled the Vilonia boys (9-8, 2-1 5A West) over Greenwood’s boys (3-12, 0-3 5A West), outscoring the Bulldogs 32-14 in the second half.
Mayflower split against Episcopal on Friday in a home contest.
The Mayflower boys (12-5, 4-2 3A-5) lost to Episcopal (7-12, 4-2 3A-5) 59-53 after a five-point first quarter, while Episcopal scored 12.
The Mayflower girls left happier than the boys, winning 45-41.
The Mayflower girls (8-10, 4-2 3A-5) fell behind 14-7 after the first quarter but held Episcopal (6-10, 2-4 3A-5) to six and seven points in the second and third quarters.
Mayflower will travel Tuesday to Jacksonville.
At Conway Christian, the Eagles split games against Des Arc with the CCS boys winning a low scoring affair 39-31.
CCS (3-13, 2-3 2A-5 North) outscored Des Arc (2-14, 0-8 2A-5 North) 16-7 in the first quarter and then played competitively the rest of the game to stay ahead of Des Arc.
On the girls’ side, Des Arc (8-9, 5-2 2A-5 North) doubled up up CCS (3-13, 0-5 2A-5 North) 52-26 in Friday’s contest.
The Eagles travel Tuesday to Bee Branch to face South Side.
St. Joseph split against White County Central with the boys (11-7, 5-3 2A-5 North) winning 41-30 on Friday.
The St. Joseph girls (12-5, 5-3 2A-5 North) nearly doubled up White County Central (3-16, 1-7 2A-5 North) winning 62-33.
St. Joseph travels Tuesday to Nemo Vista.
Guy-Perkins also split their games on Friday at home against Concord.
The Guy-Perkins boys team (7-17, 4-8 1A-5) beat Concord (15-7, 6-4 1A-5) 74-65.
On the girls’ side, Concord (15-5, 8-2 1A-5) nearly doubled up the Thunderbirds (8-16, 1-11 1A-5) winning 64-35.
Guy-Perkins travels Tuesday to Timbo.
Mt. Vernon-Enola also split against Wonderview on Friday.
The Warhawks boys (14-9, 9-2 1A-5) beat Wonderview (19-6, 8-4 1A-5) 95-79.
In a rematch of the 1A state title game, Wonderview (20-5, 12-0 1A-5) beat the Lady Warhawks (17-6, 7-4 1A-5) again 61-42.
