Conway swept by Fort Smith Northside as conference season winds down. Neither Conway Wampus Cat basketball team could pick up a win in a rare sweep Tuesday at Fort Smith North Side.

In the first half of the doubleheader in Fort Smith, the Lady Cats (22-4, 9-2 6A Central) has found their toughest foe in 6A Central competition in the Northside Lady Bears (23-0, 11-0 6A Central).

With a towering lineup, undefeated Northside stifled Conway to a 71-57 loss.

The Lady Cats previously lost 65-55 in a home contest Jan. 15.

In the latter half of the doubleheader, the Conway boys (17-6, 8-3 6A Central) also couldn’t get it done in a 59-58 loss to the Grizzlies (16-9, 7-4 6A Central).

Conway beat Northside 46-45 on Jan. 15.

Conway hosts Little Rock Central on Friday.

Mayflower basketball

The Mayflower boys lost a district tournament game to Glen Rose 59-53 Tuesday.

The Eagles took a 31-27 lead at halftime before getting outscored 32-22 in the second half of the loss.

Other teams were either playing in district tournaments or were eliminated.
