Already off to an impressive 13-4 start prior to Thursday's contest, Hendrix hosted Iowa Wesleyan for a non-conference tilt at Warrior Field.

After blowing a 4-0 lead, the Warriors scored the final four runs of the game as Hendrix downed the Tigers, 8-4, in Conway for its 14th win of the season.

Evan Orren picked up his second win of the year after relieving the starter in Bryce Delay.

Ford Sherrington and Jorge Leon tallied a pair of three-hit days in the big non-conference win.

After the Warriors led 4-0 and the Tigers scored four runs in the top of the fourth, JR McAuley led the bottom half of the inning with a bunt single.

After stealing second and third bases, a sacrifice fly by Jorge Leon allowed McAuley to tag up and score as the run put Hendrix up 5-4.

In the sixth inning, Jorge Leon singled up the middle to bring home McAuley for an insurance run before Sherrington racked up the final two RBI of the game on a single up the middle in the sixth inning and a fielder's choice ground out in the eighth.

Sherrington batted 3 for 5 with three RBI and a run Thursday against the Tigers, giving Iowa Wesleyan its sixth straight loss on the year.

Two of Sherrington's three hits were doubles to right field.

Jorge Leon went 3 for 4 in a three-RBI performance as well against Iowa Wesleyan.

Hendrix recorded five extra-base hits against the Tigers, all of which were doubles.

Following outings by Delay and Orren, Evan Ingram tossed two innings of hitless baseball before Zach Orlando pitched the seventh inning and allowed one hit.

Andrei Stoyanow tossed a hitless eighth inning while Barker cleaned things up and tossed a hitless ninth inning in a no decision effort.

"I am really proud of the way our guys competed and stepped up in big situations," coach Sean McSheffery said. "Every guy on our team has a hand in the win. I am really proud of them all."

Hendrix will host non-conference foe Grinnell in a three-game series this weekend.

First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Saturday from Warrior Field.
