After sweeping Saturday's doubleheader against Oglethorpe and winning its sixth Southern Athletic Association series in as many tries, Hendrix eyed its second SAA series sweep of the season Sunday.

Unfortunately, Oglethorpe hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Petrels took the final game, 11-10 in Atlanta, Georgia.

With the loss, Hendrix falls to 26-11 on the season with a 13-5 mark in SAA action, while Oglethorpe improves to 10-26 and a 6-12 mark in SAA play.

Hendrix gears up for a huge home series finale against Rhodes.

First pitch of the first game is set for 6 p.m. Friday.

Hendrix softball

Looking to climb higher in the Southern Athletic Association standings, Hendrix took on Centre three times Sunday from Conway.

In the first game, a complete game, three-hit scoreless outing by Savannah Draud allowed for a 6-0 Hendrix win.

The Warriors led 5-4 in game two with three outs away from another victory but the Colonels scored twice in the seventh frame to win game two 5-4.

In the rubber game, Skyler Teague picked up her first win of her collegiate career as Hendrix held off Centre 5-3 to win the series.

The Warriors improve to 17-16 on the year with an 8-7 mark in SAA play, while Centre falls to 10-20 on the season with an even 7-7 mark in conference action.

Coach Amy Weaver picked up her 300th career win at Hendrix following the game three win Sunday.

Hendrix will conclude the regular season in Memphis, Tennessee, with a three-games set against Rhodes beginning Friday.

First pitch of the first game is set for noon.

Hendrix women’s lacrosse

In the final regular season game of the 2019 season, Hendrix accounted for 21 goals against Birmingham-Southern College but it was not quite enough as the Warriors fell to the Panthers, 25-21.

BSC jumped out to the early 2-0 lead and never looked back as the Panthers led the entire game.

With the loss, the Warriors drop to 6-7 on the year with a 2-4 mark in Southern Athletic Association play, while the Panthers improve to 7-9 and 3-3 in conference action. Hendrix will serve as the No. 5 seed and will take on BSC again in the opening round of the SAA Championships. The Warriors will gear up for the 2019 SAA Women's Lacrosse Championships.

Hendrix will serve as the No. 5 seed and will battle BSC from Birmingham, Alabama.

Hendrix men’s lacrosse

In its final home game of the 2019 season, Hendrix outshot Centre 36-31 Sunday but fell to the Colonels 9-0.

Despite losing by nine, Hendrix also recorded 31 ground balls, while the Colonels only tallied 20.

With the loss, Hendrix drops to 5-9 on the season and 1-5 in Southern Athletic Association play, while Centre improves to 10-4 on the year and a 4-2 mark in conference play.

The Warriors will be the No. 5 seed in the upcoming SAA Men's Lacrosse Championships.

The Warriors will gear up for the 2019 SAA Men's Lacrosse Championships and will serve as the No. 6 seed.

Hendrix will take on Berry on April 20 from Rome, Georgia.

Hendrix tennis

In its last week of play as part of the 2019 season, Hendrix took on Oglethorpe on Saturday and Berry on Sunday in Conway.

On the women's side, the Warriors fell 8-1 to the Petrels and 9-0 to the Vikings.

As far as the men's side goes, Hendrix recorded 9-0 setbacks to both Oglethorpe and Berry on the weekend.

Becky Sherman and Shelby Worsham recorded the notable 8-4 win at the No. 1 doubles spot versus the Petrels on Saturday.

Seniors from both teams were honored before the Berry match Sunday.

Hendrix will gear up for the SAA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships which will be held April 26-28 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Hendrix track and field

Hendrix track and field traveled across town in its next-to-last meet of the regular season when the Warriors participated in the Central Arkansas Open on Friday held on the campus of University of Central Arkansas.

Despite just competing in events Friday, the men's team finished in ninth place with 14 points, while the women's team finished in 10th place with four points.

Hendrix will conclude the regular season April 19-20 by taking part in the Red Wolves Open in Jonesboro.
