FRISCO, Texas – University of Central Arkansas women's golf standout Emma Svensson has been named to the Southland Conference All-Academic First-Team announced in a release by the league office Monday.
This is Svensson's third appearance on the all-academic teams.
The awards are given annually to the best representatives across the conference both in the classroom and on the course.
The Halmstad, Sweden, native adds yet another honor to her incredible list of accomplishments while representing the Bears for four years.
In addition to her now three-time honors on the SLC all-academic squad, Svensson has also been an All-Southland Conference First-Team selection all four years in Conway, the only golfer in UCA history that has accomplished the feat.
Svensson becomes Central Arkansas' fifth selection to the Southland Conference All-Academic teams in the past three years joining former Bears Fernanda Lira (2018) and Brenda Gonzalez(2017).
Miles Smith picks up SLC all-academic accolades
University of Central Arkansas men's golfer Miles Smith has been named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Second-Team in a release from the conference office Monday.
Smith boasted the second-best scoring average for the Bears (75.29) and first of UCA golfers who participated in both the spring and fall tournaments.
The Little Rock native finished tied for eighth at the LaTour Intercollegiate in Patterson, Louisiana, in February and shot a season-low 69 in the second round.
In the classroom, Smith excelled to a 3.66 GPA.
This is the sophomore's first honor from the Southland Conference as he joins Rodrigo Rivas (2018), Louis Tomlinson (2016, 2017), Pep Angles Ros (2013, 2014, 2015) and Steven Lecuyer (2009) as the only Bears ever selected to the SLC annual all-academic teams.
