Three top Conway Christian High School athletes will get to showcase their talent locally in Conway having committed to Hendrix College.

Both Conway Christian and Hendrix College share a rich history of academic and athletic accomplishments and are taking steps to showcase those accomplishments with some of Conway’s own locally-grown talent.

All three athletes stated that their love of Conway and staying local was a factor in their decisions.

Tyler Williams, a distinguished honor graduate of CCHS with a GPA of 3.90, has committed to play basketball for the Hendrix Warriors.

Williams has attended Conway Christian since third grade and was recognized this year with all-conference basketball honors for the CCHS Eagles averaging 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Tyler is the son of Ryan and Wendy Williams.

Bennett Ellis, a distinguished honor graduate of CCHS with a GPA of 4.13, has committed to play football for Hendrix College as a kicker.

Ellis first played football locally for the Conway Optimist Club on the Saints team.

He has attended Conway Christian since the fifth grade and has kicked for Conway Christian throughout junior high and high school with a punting average of 47 yards, a long-distance field goal record of 53 yards with an overall 92% of place kicks made.

Ellis received all-conference football honors winning two conference championships. Bennett is the son of Ladd and Ashley Ellis.

Jacob Wood has attended Conway Christian for the past 15 years.

He graduated as a distinguished honor graduate with a GPA of 4.11.

Wood began his Conway football career playing Conway Optimist Club Football.

He played for the Charger’s, winning a Super Bowl championship in 2012.

During Wood’s high school career as quarterback, Wood accrued 9,646 yards passing and 143 touchdowns, winning two conference championships.

Wood was a three-time all-conference selection and a two-time all-state selection and will play in the all-star football game June 22 at UCA.

Wood has committed to continue his career as quarterback for the Hendrix football team.

Jacob is the son of Mark and Ginger Wood.

All three of these Conway graduates are lifelong friends and multi-sport athletes, having played some kind of ball together from back-to-back undefeated basketball championships in elementary school to winning conference championships in football and also in baseball in high school.
