Community Service, Inc. (CSI) has named Lexi Tawney as the July First Tee Character Development program participant of the month.

Lexi is the daughter of Rachel Tawney and is a homeschooled third grader.

The program is coached by certified level II First Tee coach Sam Taylor.

“I have seen Lexi make great progress in developing her golf swing and target awareness in just a short time,” Taylor said. “Lexi has also done a great job in demonstrating the program’s core values each week, especially sportsmanship when we play golf baseball.”

Lexi recently started the CSI First Tee Character Development program.

“My favorite part of the program is learning how to aim and chip to a specific target,” Lexi said. “My favorite core value is honesty because I don’t want to cheat, and I want to have a fair chance to win even though I might lose.”

Lexi’s parents have seen positive changes since their daughter started the program.

“I have seen her become a more confident person in her golf skills as well as in her everyday life,” Rachel said.

Lexi is at the PLAYer level where she is learning about the First Tee nine core values (Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Honesty, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Judgment, Perseverance and Integrity) and essential life skills through the game of golf.

The CSI First Tee Character Development Program is currently enrolling for summer programming that meets from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday at the Arkansas Golf Center.

The program is also offering a four day summer camp from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day July 22 through 25.

If you would like to register your child age 7-12 for weekly classes or camp find CSI at or call 501-733-3938.
