VAN BUREN — The Conway Lady Cats kept their winning ways going Tuesday, taking a 54-44 win over Farmington in the first round of tournament action here.

The Lady Cats (3-0) will play the winner of the Shiloh Christian-Springdale game in the second round at 4  p.m. Thursday.

Taylor Gault led Conway with 31 points.

The Conway Christian girls picked up their first win of the season, downing Calico Rock 49-47 Tuesday night.

Kelly Hays led with 19 points and added five rebounds and five steals. Alexi Dather had a double-double performance of 18 points and 17 rebounds.


Carl Stuart Middle School’s seventh-grade boys won two games against Vilonia on Monday night. 

Carl Stuart won the A game 35-20. Leading scorers for Carl Stuart were Collin Cahill, Clay Bradshaw, Breylin Smith, each with seven points. Cole Tollett and Blaine Booher scored four points, while Damontay Allen, Prentice Mullins and Greyson Pinkett had two each. 

Jakolby Jones, Trey Kellybrew, and Trelin Moore contributed defensively, according to coach Todd Kendrick.

Carl Stuart won the B game 11-6. Leading scorers for Carl Stuart were Trelin Moore with five points, while Hayden Browers and Brady Ferguson had four each. Tanner Thone, Trevius Williams, Austin Norriss, and Matthew Sweere had strong defensive games.


Vilonia defeated Carl Stuart 38-11. Lauren Rappold scored 11 points to lead the Lady Eagles. Jessica Brandon finished with six points and five rebounds; Morgan Gray scored points; Sarah Brantley had four points and 4 steals; Sydney Wader scored four points, Cassidy Leach, Madison Daves and Kelsey McKissack scored two each. Kathleen Hill added four steals.

Vilonia won the B game 14-0

Michelle Dorsett, Kelsey McKissack, McKenzie Weaver, Casey Williams, Kaitlin Lowe, Lacey McCasland, and Mattison Rhoades scored two points each. Ashlynn Morton had four steals.
