KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. — The University of Central Arkansas women’s golf team shot a second-round 308 on Monday and sits in a tie for seventh place in the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate being played at Cougar Point.
UCA sophomore Julia Roth is in fifth place overall after shooting rounds of 74-72 for a 2-over 146. Freshman Carly Dear is tied for 37th place after shooting 76-77 — 153, while junior Sara Hillman is tied for 71st (74-83 — 157). Junior Gemma Hardie is tied for 74th (82-76 — 158), while senior C.J. Bobbitt is tied for 100th (77-84 — 161).
UCA has a 33-over 609 through two rounds of the 33-team tournament. Miami leads the field at 593, followed by Campbell University (600), Florida International and Western Carolina (601), College of Charleston (604) and University of Akron (608). UCA is tied with Nebraska, followed by Oral Roberts and Elon (610), James Madison (611), Middle Tennessee (616), William and Mary (617), Jacksonville State and Old Dominion (618), Newberry (620), Arkansas State (623), Longwood and Daytona State (624).
Wichita State is 20th (625), followed by Iowa and Wofford (630), Richmond (633), Jacksonville State (634), Charleston Southern (639), Presbyterian (640), Bucknell (644), Houston Baptist (649), The Citadel (657), Drake (661), Winthrop (662), South Carolina Upstate (667) and Faulkner University (772).
