The University of Central Arkansas has added guard Carlin Bremner from North Carolina to the Bears basketball roster for the fall. Bremner, from North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, N.C., near Charlotte, is a 5-foot-11 shooting guard/point guard who averaged 21 points and four assists per game. He scored 1,083 career points at North Mecklenburg and was first team all-conference, all-district and all-region and was the Lake Norman News Player of the Year. "He is a young, talented point guard that addresses our team need for outside shooting, toughness and leadership," UCA coach Corliss Williamson said. "His shooting ability gives him the versatility to play off the ball as well. "He is very competitive on and off the court, carrying over a 3.5 grade-point average throughout his high school career. He will be a great addition to our program and university." Bremner led the Vikings to a 22-6 overall record and a second-place finish in their conference this season. Bremner joins five other new recruits for the Bears, including Anthony Borden from Holmes Community College, Jarvis Garner and Robert Crawford from Connors State, Darius Singleton from Sachse (Texas) High School and Malcolm Canada from Akins High School in Austin, Texas.
