The weekly Bearbackers luncheons, hosted by the University of Central Arkansas athletic department, are moving to the new Beef O’Brady’s in the Conway Towne Center.
The Monday luncheons will begin on Aug. 29 and will feature recaps and previews from UCA coaches and athletes, as well as other information pertaining to UCA athletics. Head football coach Clint Conque will be the featured speaker through the fall season, followed by women’s basketball coach Matt Daniel and men’s basketball coach Corliss Williamson during their seasons.
Lunch will begin at 11:30, with the program to follow at approximately noon. The lunch will feature a revolving menu of items, and patrons can also order off the standard Beef O’Brady’s menu. A free shuttle bus will pick up every Monday at 11:30 a.m. in front of First Security Field at Estes Stadium and return at approximately 12:45.
Beef O’Brady’s, a Tampa-based chain of family sports restaurants, opened in the Conway Towne Center earlier this month in the building that formerly housed El Chico. It is owned by UCA alums Randy and Michelle Hull. UCA Athletics recently signed a corporate partnership agreement with the restaurant.
"We are very excited about our new partnership with UCA Athletics," Hull said. "We are proud supporters of UCA and look forward to a long relationship with the university. We’re anxious to help out in any way we can. It’s all about community and giving back and we’re really excited about this partnership."
