University of Central Arkansas coach Clint Conque said his team has the potential for more big plays in the passing game this season.

That's because wide receivers Jesse Grandy, Al Lasker and Dezmin Lewis are bonafide deep threats.

"We strive for balance, but I think we will be able to vertically push the ball downfield more this season," said Conque during the first Bearbackers luncheon of the season at their new site, Beef O'Brady's in the Conway Towne Center. "We're still a West Coast style of offense with a lot of screens and dinks, but we may look more like the UCA offenses of old with being able to get more big plays."

The Bears open the season Thursday at 7 p.m. at home against Henderson State.
