FORT WORTH, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas men’s golf team finished tied for 13th place at the Texas-Arlington/Waterchase Invitational, which saw the third round canceled on Tuesday due to an incident with a swarm of bees at Waterchase Golf Club.

The Bears shot rounds of 299-307 on Monday for a two-round total of 606. Wichita State took first place at 570, followed by Sam Houston State (574), UT Arlington and Arkansas State (584), Louisiana Tech (589), Louisiana-Monroe (594), Kansas State (595), Southern Illinois (602), Texas-San Antonio, Texas Wesleyan, Mercer and Southern Miss (603), UCA and Stephen F. Austin (606), Houston Baptist and UT Arlington (Orange) (610), Nicholls State (622), McNeese State (631) and Texas Pan American (634).

Individually, senior Antonio Costa tied for 21st and led UCA with rounds of 71-76 — 147 on the par-72 course. Senior Chris Cooke shot 76-74 — 150 and tied for 36th, while freshman Pep Angles tied for 57th at 74-79 — 153. Senior Josh Sims (79-78 — 157) and freshman David Morago (78-79 — 157) tied for 76th.
