The Hendrix College women’s tennis won its second match in as many nights, defeating the University of the Ozarks 5-1 at the Mabee Center on Saturday night.

The Warriors (2-3) avenged their 5-4 fall loss to Lady Eagles (1-2).

The Warriors took two of the three doubles points, and lost the third in a tiebreaker. Freshman Hannah Smashey and sophomore Saranya Prathibha defeated Kalli Simpson and Tara Richards, 8-4, at No. 1, and junior Arden Brazzeal and senior Dorothy Schuler topped Chelsea Young and Macie Kelley, 8-5, at No. 2. Ozarks’ Whitney Lewis and Megan Wallace topped sophomore Caroline Kelley and freshman Nora Lovaas 9-8 with a tiebreaker set.
Playing to a decision, the Warriors secured the match by taking the top the three singles matchups. Brazzeal beat Lewis 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles and Smashey upended Simpson 6-1, 6-0 at number No. 3. Prathibha moved to 2-0 at No. 2 singles by defeating Richards 6-3, 6-1.
Hendrix will return to action  Saturday when its hosts Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Millsaps at 8 a.m
