BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Hendrix’s stay in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament was short.
The Warriors had an early afternoon game to open the tournament. Centre jumped to a 12-3 and the Warriors never recovered as the Colonels surged to a 65-46 victory.
The Warriors, who finished the season 7-19, shot 26.8 percent (15 of 56) from the field and hit only four of 16 3-point attempts. Centre (22-3) and the East Division champions, shot 43.6 percent and 46.7 from 3-point range.
Centre led 38-26 at the ahlf.
Avery Roller was the only Warrior in double figures with 15. Jamie Tate had nine points and eight rebounds.
Maggie Prewitt, six of eight from the field had 18 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Bridget Winstead added 12 points.
