TUNICA,  Miss. —  The Hendrix College women's golf team finished in seventh place at the 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the Links at Cottonwoods Friday through Sunday.

The Warriors shot a 402-412-422-1,236 in the final event of the year.
Senior Brie Seebinger of Albuquerque, N.M. led Hendrix with a 98-98-96-292, finishing 32nd. Senior Alex Weaver, from Stuttgart, had the lowest round of the tournament for the Warriors, scoring an 87-99-109-295 to place 33rd.

Freshman Kelsi McClure took 37th place at 100-103-105-308 and sophomore Lizzy Consenza was 37th at 117-112-112-341.

Centre won the title with a three-round score of 946. The Colonels were followed by Birmingham-Southern (979), Southwestern (999), Rhodes (1,001), Trinity (1,003), Oglethorpe (1,038), Hendrix (1,236) and Sewanee (1,249).

The championship was the last tournament in the career for seniors Seebinger and Weaver.


The men placed ninth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at Tunica National Golf Course Friday through Sunday. The Warriors shot a 334-338-329-1001 in their final tournament of the season.

Sophomore Travis Weeks of Beebe. paced Hendrix with an 81-84-82-247, tying for 38th place. Freshman Cory Ziegler had the Warriors' lowest round of the tournament, shooting a 79-89-83-251 for 41st place.

Junior Michael Cathey was just behind at 42nd place with an 87-80-85-252 and freshman Garrett Darling shot 87-88-80-255, finishing 43rd. Freshman John Weirich rounded out the scoring by firing an 88-86-84-258, tying for 45th.
