he University of Central Arkansas will appear twice on the Southland Conference Network television schedule this season with both games at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
The UCA-Sam Houston State game at 3 p.m., Sept. 22, will kick off the network’s coverage. UCA’s home game against Northwestern State, now set for 7 p.m. (instead of a 3 p.m. start) on Nov. 3, will be part of an afternoon-evening doubleheader that will follow the McNeese State-Nicholls State game. The game will be the second of two straight weeks of doubleheaders, unprecedented in SLC television history.
The network will televise 11 live football games and the championship matches of the conference soccer and volleyball tournaments. The volleyball tournament, with the championship match set for Sunday, Nov. 18, will again be hosted by UCA.
All games will be carried on more than 20 affiliates across the regional network, including stations in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, increasing the network’s reach to more than 11.2 million households. The SLC Network games will be televised on Little Rock station KARZ.
All games will stream live and on demand as part of the new Southland Digital Network at southland.org. Broadcasts also will be carried by ESPN3, which is available online at watchespn.com and the WatchESPN app on iPhone, iPad, Android and Xbox LIVE systems.
