WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Hendrix College volleyball split its final games of the regular season, falling to Williams Baptist College 20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 and defeating Crowley's Ridge College 25-7, 25-12, 25-14.
The Warriors move to 13-17 overall and will be the sixth seed and face Centre on Friday to open the Southern Athletic Association Tournament in Mount Berry, Ga.
Against the Lady Eagles, junior outside hitter Katie Burchfield recorded a career-high 20 kills and hit .375 to go with 18 digs for her eight double-double of the year. Seniors Melissa Clement and Kristen Finch added 11 kills each and junior setter Zoe Calhoun had 28 assists. Sophomore middle blocker Carson Hunter knocked down five blocks and freshman libero Jill Sikes came up with 18 digs.
The Warriors hit a season-best .433 with 36 kills, nine aces, 32 digs and four blocks against the Lady Pioneers.
Burchfield led the way again with nine kills and hit .350. Hunter had eight kills and Clement had seven. Freshman Catey May recorded five kills as well. Calhoun added 20 digs and Sikes served up four aces to go with 12 digs.
